Pedestrian Operated Counterbalance Forklift FAQs

Is Forklift Training Legally Required?

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 give employers the responsibility to ensure employees have received relevant training to use, supervise, or manage the use of work equipment. These requirements apply to operating forklifts.

Does My Forklift Certificate Expire?

Your forklift certificate will not expire. If you complete an RTITB course, however, your NORS registration will expire. You can renew your registration with a refresher training course. It is up to an employer whether they allow you to continue to operate a forklift after your NORS registration lapses.

How Do I Check My Training Is Registered With An Accrediting Body?

All of our courses are accredited by RTITB, ITSSAR, or AITT. Each of these accrediting bodies provides a unique ID number with the certificate you receive on completing the course.

You can contact the accreditor directly and use the unique ID to confirm your training has been registered. ITSSAR and RTITB training can be checked through the relevant accrediting body websites.
