Industrial Forklift Training – Reach Truck and Counterbalance Forklift Training in Melksham and South Wales

Since its inception the lift truck has proven invaluable across industry, however every year thousands of people are injured and many killed by lift trucks. The majority of these accidents are avoidable, some are due to the lack of training of operators and some are due to operator error. Companies operating lift trucks should ensure that they are complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and guide – lines laid down in the approved code of practice.

The aim of providing training is to help you understand the safety rules that apply to lift trucks and increase both your proficiency and productivity whilst reducing the risk of accidents. Remember that accidents do not just happen, they are caused. Proper selection of personnel who are to operate lift trucks followed by the correct training (Basic, Job Specific and Familiarisation) prior to work being undertaken is crucial.

It is very important that any commercial training is undertaken by an ACCREDITED organisation/trainer.

HL Training Services are fully accredited by ITSSAR and offer counterbalance forklift training alongside reach truck training throughout Melksham, South Wales and surrounding areas. Due to the vast number of different trucks it is important that the candidate reads and fully understands the manufacturer’s safe working handbook for the truck to be used. Managers and Supervisors of operators should have an appreciation of the safety rules, also the performance and constraints involved in operating lift trucks. There should also be a safe system of work laid down for use of lift trucks if maximum safety and efficiency is to be achieved.

Counterbalance forklift truck operator training will include;

  • HASAWA – Health And Safety At Work Act 1974.

VNA Truck Training

Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks are used for stacking loads, medium and high-level order picking or, in some instances, both.

Its unique steering method sets a VNA truck apart from other forklifts and pallet trucks. VNA trucks are normally only steered by the operator when transferring from one stacking aisle to another. Once in the aisle, they are automatically guided by wire or rail to allow optimal precision and control in an extremely narrow environment.

The operation of a VNA truck requires high levels of skill and precision, especially when working in tight areas. That’s where VNA license training comes in.

VNA Forklift Truck Benefits

VNA trucks are ideal for operating in tight spaces. If you want to maximise your facility’s storage space, a VNA forklift system could be the answer. By installing narrow aisles, you can benefit from increased storage capacity without needing to expand your facility and have a safe way of navigating through the aisles to pick and pack your products.

As VNA forklift trucks only need to be controlled manually when transported from one stacking aisle to another, staff time on the storage floor can be reduced, increasing employee safety and minimising accidents. This also leads to greater efficiency when order-picking as cameras and sensors can be utilised to provide a more accurate retrieval of goods.

If VNA forklifts sound like the perfect addition to your facility or you already have them in place, why not ensure your operators are equipped with the knowledge to operate this machinery with one of our VNA license training courses?

VNA Truck Training Course Structure

Our VNA training courses will allow the candidate to operate the VNA forklift truck efficiently and effectively, maintaining the highest quality of operation.

Upon completing this VNA training course, the candidate will have acquired the skill set to operate the machine safely. They will be able to conduct necessary inspections and understand the impact of weight distribution on truck stability and safety.

We also provide a full range of forklift operator training.

FAQs

Is a VNA forklift license a requirement?

You must have completed the appropriate basic, specific, and familiarisation training in order to operate a VNA forklift. However, a VNA license technically does not exist. The training ensures the safety of all staff and employees and comply with regulations.

Once completed, VNA training will allow you to have full knowledge of how to operate a VNA forklift and the safety procedures that go with it. If you pass the VNA training, you will receive a certificate of completion. We also offer an ID card to accompany your certificate.

What is unique about VNA Operator/Man-Up trucks?

VNA Operator-Up forklift trucks are unique pieces of machinery that the operator will use to go up and down in correlation with the forks on their truck. This allows for full and clear shelf visibility and precise manoeuvering at height in a narrow space. As the operation of this forklift truck requires a high level of precision and control, training can immeasurably enhance the operator’s skill set. This can create higher levels of control and efficiency in your workplace.

How long is the VNA Truck Training course?

The duration of the course ultimately depends on your current skill level. It ranges from a one-day refresher course to a five-day intensive and comprehensive training course. Each VNA training course is designed for different skill levels, meaning you’ll find the perfect course that integrates perfectly with your current experience and skill level.
