The course concludes with both a theory and practical test.
Refresher training is essential for certified operators whose certification is approaching expiry or who haven’t operated a truck regularly. HSE guidance recommends forklift refresher courses approximately every 3 to 5 years, though more frequent refreshers may be needed after accidents, near misses, or extended breaks from operation.

To ensure safe supervision and sufficient practical time, instructors work with a maximum of 3 trainees for standard truck training. This ratio guarantees everyone gets hands-on experience rather than watching from the sidelines.
